Barron County Fair Seeks 2024 Fairest of the Fair
Applications now open for Barron County Fairest of the Fair contest and new this year a Junior Fairest of the Fair!
Would you like the chance to represent the Barron County Fair, have fun, meet new people, polish your interviewing and speaking skills and gain professional experience that will last a lifetime? The Barron County Fairest of the Fair contest is looking for contestants 18 years of age or older. The contest is open to those who have been a resident of the state of Wisconsin for at least one year. Contestants must reside in Barron County or an adjoining county, if the majority of their fair and or school activities are in Barron County. Contestants are eligible to apply for a maximum of two years.
The Fairest of the Fair is chosen by a panel of impartial judges based upon; personality, attitude, maturity, professionalism, speaking ability, poise, appearance, involvement in school, community and fair activities along with overall impression.
Prior to the fair, contestants will participate in individual and group interviews as well as make and record a radio ad promoting the fair. The crowning of the new “Fairest” will take place at the Barron County Fair on Sunday, July 21st. The new “Fairest” will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship and represent Barron County at the State Fairs Convention. The runner up will receive a $100.00 scholarship and all other participants will receive $25.
New this year, Junior Fairest of the Fair! The purpose of the Junior Fairest of the Fair is to be an ambassador of the Barron County Fair and participate in promotional programs and media events throughout the year including parades and other community events. The Junior Fairest will work alongside the Barron County Fairest of the Fair and the Fairest Program coordinators. The Junior Fairest of the Fair contest is open to those that have completed grades 5, 6 or 7 in the previous school year.
